How Did You Make 81 Brent LEED Platinum?
There are two major ways Land Escapes helped make 81 Brent LEED Platinum. The first was maintaining 100% storm water retention. We were able to achieve this through by keeping the landscape surfaces permeable and capturing all the rainwater from the roof. The driveway of 81 Brent is gravel, the front walk is constructed of permeable pavers and the rest of the property garden beds; all of which are permeable. The rain water that lands on the roof is channeled through the gutters to a 1000 gallon rain harvesting system. That water is used to irrigate the garden beds and is used in the decorative fountain out front.
The second way we helped make 81 Brent LEED Platinum was by planting the landscape with all native habitat creating plants. All of the plants used on the property are native to this area of the country, which means they are prefect for growing in this area, they are low maintenance and require very little input such as water and additional nutrients once established. In addition all the plants provide either food, through berry of pollen or shelter through leaf cover.
